I am considering establishing an LLC in the US. However, I am not sure whether my services (actually combined into a product) will qualify or not as effectively-connected income. I will sell a magazine (investment advisory) to clients around the world. Will my proceeds from US customers be classified as US-sourced income?

Yes, because you are accepting US dollars from your US customers. Unless you can get them to pay in a different currency.

Why not put in place another corporate entity for the purposes of conducting business with your US located clients and then enter into an agent relationship with the US LLC to provide the service. This way the US LLC is not taking a payment from a US located cleint, it is merely being contracted by a none US connected entity to act for a US client.
